Mission Chapter’s 35th Anniversary will be celebrated on April 22nd – we’ll invite some of our old members and have a special evening.
March 25, 2014 Meeting Notes
The theme of the meeting was “Spring.” Mary Jo was our Presiding Officer, there were 12 people at the meeting including guest (and now member!) Stephanie.
Humor: Wayne faked us out with a story about a scam involving young women approaching men at Home Depot that sounded plausible, until the end…
Word-of-the-day: Sol gave us “Peregrinations” – to do things as you’re moving
Speaking tip: Ron – be prepared for impromptu speaking, all you need is a basic topic (cars for example), create a short introduction, make 3 points about cars, then a closing – you have speeches inside you!
Cristy’s speech, “The 2014 Nissan Rogue”, was her first Toastmaster’s speech: delivered without notes and with humor and poise. Good job!!!
Dave’s speech, “My Regulatory Meet and Greet,” was a practice run for an upcoming presentation to County leaders.
Ron’s impromptu speech, “Peregrinations of the Mind,” described the benefits, and perils, of audio books.
Tabletopics Master: Larry
General Evaluator: Cindy

Speaker – Cristy won best speaker for a great job presenting a speech she will be giving to work colleagues.
Evaluator – Mary Jo won for her evaluation of Cristy’s speech
