Melisa’s speech, was an ice breaker and gave us a look into her life, education and career.
Ron’s speech suggested our environmental priorities were out of order and that loss of soil is the biggest challenge facing us. Maybe CO2 at 400 parts per million is not the problem some scientists make it out to be.
Christine encouraged us to take advantage of Toastmaster opportunities outside the club. From contests to conferences and more, say yes and explore all the possibilities.
Table Topics: Grace
General Evaluator: Lili
Evaluators: Dave, Hannah, Wayne
Rooney: Liz delivered what might be considered a perfect Rooney. Her subject was the Summerland post office and the challenges of postal services in our neighboring community.
The award for Best Speaker went to Melisa for her engaging Ice Breaker.
Hannah took the Best Evaluator trophy for her review of Ron‘s “Soil Gets No Respect” speech.
The Best Table Topics award went to Subha for her description of how her Mom thought one should be cooled down in India after a hot day.
