January 10th, 2017 Meeting Notes
The theme of the meeting was Pineapples.
Cindy was the presiding officer. There were 16 people at the meeting, including guest Robby.
•Hiba’s speech, “What’s Most Important About Communication,” discussed the importance of communications, and how critical clarity and connection are in helping you obtain the objective you are seeking when you speak.
•Julia showed us her tough side in her speech, “Badass.” Julia gave an inspirational speech about standing up to an abusive mental health care professional and succeeding.
•Jen showed off her musical talents in “Loving the Ukelele.” Jen took up the ukulele a year ago, and taught herself how to play. After explaining a bit about the instrument and the various chords and strumming techniques, Jen did an outstanding job playing a few popular tunes for the club to demonstrate what she’s learned, and to show us that ukuleles aren’t just for Hawaiian music!!
• Best Speaker: Julia
• Best Evaluator: Brett for his evaluation of Julia’s speech.
• Best Table Topic: Rob for his explanation of why he would never want to be a watermelon!
