July 5th,  2016 Meeting Notes The theme of the meeting was “Flying Pigs. Cindy was the presiding officer, there were 15 people at the meeting including guest Allison.

Julia– gave us her Ice Breaker speech in which she told us she is a psychic and then told us 3 stories of about her experiences of being psychic.

Larry – started his speech talking about the lack of bumper stickers and his feeling of why it’s important for everyone in some way to be involved in politics.

Robert – told a humorous story about his experiences with dating, having to put up with his mom, sisters and cousins trying to set him up, and why he has decided at least for now to no longer go on dates.

June 28th,  2016 Meeting Notes The theme of the meeting was “Money. Cindy was the presiding officer, there were 15 people at the meeting.

Speakers:

Cindy – told us about the 3 types of stress and that we should manage our perception of stress (not all stress is bad for you). She suggested we think about how we handle stress in order to deal with it better.

Annie – gave us a speech in which she used visual aids. Her speech was about cooking the perfect salmon where she showed pictures of the parts of a salmon and what it should like if you cook it right.

Jen – gave an inspirational speech where she told us about her first ½ marathon she ran as part of a relay team that participated in a ½ ironman. She told us how after mile 11 she had to ‘dig deep’ to complete the last 2 miles.

 Speakers:

Jon delivered a follow up to his ice breaker speech, telling us more about his time in Iraq during the first Gulf War and how his experiences have shaped the way he looks at things today. No matter how bad a day Jon may be having, he can always look back on the war

Michael gave an informative speech about what he’s learned about metrics around body mass and what to focus on when determining your ideal weight. Michael has been very successful in putting this knowledge into practice, he’s lost quite a bit of weight!! Good job Michael!

Hiba gave a demonstration of her sales skills. The purpose of the speech was to sell an item, and Hiba successfully sold Annie some homeopathic cold remedies!

Alyce – gave an informative speech about drones. She told us about the history of drones and how their being used today. She then talked about the legal issues that are still being debated.

Ritesh – gave his ice breaker speech and told us how he was able to come to the United States and his initial observations during his first few days here.
